First Meeting!

Tonight and monday join us for our general body meetings at Scott Hall Rm 115 9:30pm. We are diving into the semester with multiple events and service efforts. See you there!

Update: In our first meeting we interacted with new members and drafted potential programs to organize this semester.  We’re tackling health and wellness education, high school outreach, and immigration and community issues. Please join us and take a stand as we execute these throughout the semester.

Welcome to our Fall 2013 new students!

Hello all!

We are tremendously excited to have you aboard once more. This fall semester we hope to have a fantastic series of opportunities for you to get involved with.
– Look out for our Walk-for-Literacy on October 12th.
– We’re looking forward to excited kids for Halloween Monster Mash at the end of October.
– We want to help with outreach at the local New Brunswick library
– We also want to assist at the Tiny Tots center as well as at Youth Empowerment Services, both of which seek to make a difference for young people in New Brunswick
-We are working with NJ4Haiti and the Global Literacy Project, Inc. to assist students in Haiti

And that’s just to start!
Bring your ideas to add to the list and let’s make this a semester of difference!

Hey Guys,

We just want to say thank you to everyone that turned up to our first general body meeting last week and helped make it a success! This week we will be going into more detail about the Walk For Literacy. Remember our meeting is tonight at 8PM in Livingston Student Center room 109. Can’t wait to see you there!

Hey guys!

Our General Body Meetings will be on Wednesdays 8-9 pm in Livingston Campus Center, Room 109 starting 9/19/12. Please come and learn about our volunteer opportunities for this semester! We’ve already started to get ready for the Walk for Literacy on October 20th but we also have events like Monster Mash, Elijah’s Promise to look forward to. Of course we will have a few bake sales and other fundraisers in between that we hope you all will also participate in. If anyone has questions please remember to email us! (goyaproject@gmail.com)

GOYA Welcome Back !!!!

We hope everyone had a relaxing summer break! But since we’re back at Rutgers the GOYA Project EBoard welcomes everyone back. We are excited about upcoming programs for Fall 2012, and we’re looking to make this semester even more successful than last spring! We hope everyone is excited to participate in our events again this year. Starting off our semester is the Walk for Literacy on October 20th, followed by Monster Mash on Halloween weekend, then Elijah’s Promise. Of course we will have a few bake sales and other fundraisers in between that we hope you all will also participate in. Have a wonderful first week of class! Walk for Literacy is a Week Away!

Our 10th Annual Walk for Literacy is fast approaching.  October 1st is only a week away.  Don’t forget to spread the word- tell your friends, family, roommate about this community service opportunity.  Come make a lasting difference in a child’s life by supporting the work that the Global Literacy Project does in Africa, Asia and the Caribbean.
