Hello – From your friends at Bragg School

April 30th, 2009

Hi Everyone,

We were so excited to get your letters!  We hope you enjoyed our letters too!!  We have some questions for you:

1.  Is it hot all the time in South Africa?

2.  We heard there are floods in South Africa.  Are there a lot of them and do you miss school when your town is flooded?  What about your homes, is there something supporting your house so your things don’t get wet?

3.  There are a lot of animals in our area, like deer, coyote, foxes and black bear.  Do you have a lot of roaming animals in South Africa and what kind of animals do you see all the time?

4.  Are you reading the books from Global Literacy:  Go go, Akimbo and the Snakes, Journey to Jo’burg?

5.  We heard you just had an election there.  Who was elected?  How old do you have to be to vote in South Africa?

6.  What time do you start and end school there?

We can’t wait to receive your new letters and poems.

From your friends at Bragg School!!!

Welcome!

The Bragg School 5th Grade

Fifth graders at the Bragg Primary School in New Jersey  are working on sharing stories, letters and poetry with fellow fifth graders at the Randfontein Primary School in South Africa.

The hope is to complete and publish an anthology of poems at the end of the 2008-2009 academic year.
